The forum where all committee chairs share information and co-ordinate activities. In general terms, the Board serves to oversee the administration of the organization. Membership on this committee is predetermined under the Chamber Constitution and By-Laws.

The Mission of the Chamber:
The Stratford & District Chamber of Commerce is the prominent business organization in Stratford and district that is committed to being the voice of business by championing economic prosperity and an exceptional quality of life.
Objects:
The objects of the Chamber are to maintain and improve trade and commerce, conservation and good management of community resources, and to promote the economic, commercial, industrial, tourist and convention, civic, agricultural and environmental welfare of the City of Stratford and the surrounding district within and for which this Chamber was established and as defined in the Certificate of Registration under the Boards of Trade Act.
The Chamber shall promote good government and sound legislation at all levels of government.
The Chamber shall support the free enterprise system.
The Chamber shall provide leadership, which will give business a strong collective voice.
This group of members focuses on attracting new venues for the BA5 program and developing new ways for members to meet new contact and strengthen existing business relationships.
BUSINESS EXCELLENCE AWARDS GALA
These prestigious awards are designed to honour the contributions to our community by outstanding local companies and individuals who have been in business at least two years. This committee completes all functions required to plan, promote, implement, and evaluate all activities associated with this event.
PRESIDENT’S GOLF TOURNAMENT
This is a fun but “hard working” committee who plan and implement the Chamber’s Annual Golf Tournament held in May. One of the Chamber’s major fund raising events. Members must have time to assist in soliciting prizes from Chamber members to ensure a great prize table.
SMALL BUSINESS WEEK
A series of events are planned, promoted and implemented over the course of the 3 rd week in October. Working with our financial institutions, this committee strives to not only provide resources to the business community but to bring them together by providing networking opportunities.
ANNUAL MEMBER’S BAR-B-QUE
The committee’s responsibility it to create an event that brings together the membership in a venue that allows for family involvement and business networking. Occurring in June, this committee solicits sponsorships for food donations and draw prizes while planning activities that are entertain the young and young at heart.
MEMBERS CHRISTMAS PARTY
Members plan this event with the Christmas spirit in mind. Hosted similar to our Business After 5 program, this event is sponsored by one of our members in their place of business. The annual toy drive generates much needed assistance to our local House of Blessing for their children’s program.
GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS
This committee’s mandate is to develop an ongoing contact and liaison with area municipal government, Provincial and Federal government representatives. Also maintain contact with the Ontario & Canadian Chambers on provincial and federal governmental affairs including taxation issues which may affect our district. Raise awareness among the Chamber membership of government actions on the well-being of the district regarding policy positions and projects in respect to governmental affairs and taxation for recommendation to the Chamber’s Board of Directors.
RETAIL
This newly formed committee will represent the needs of retail merchant members of the Chamber of Commerce while encouraging membership in the association. Focus will evolve around co-ordination of goodwill advertising for city retail businesses and liaison between different business associations in the city.
